‘During assessment practitioners often gather pertinent information, however the real challenge lies in the next step of synthesising this into planning appropriate interventions. This book sequentially provides robust evidence based assessment strategies leading to collaborative case conceptualisation promoting strength based practice and appropriate intervention. A must for the Mental Health Practitioner.’
‘Psychosocial assessment in mental health is an extremely valuable resource for all healthcare practitioners. The interesting and informative format is consistent throughout with the addition of the ‘service user voice’ adding an appreciated component. The ‘integration of assessment information’ is covered well. Definitely a core text.’
‘This textbook is an excellent companion for mental health practitioners seeking to develop their psychosocial assessment skills. The knowledge is clearly conveyed, valuing the service users’ perspective. There are many practical examples to illustrate the link between theory and clinical practice, including crucial reflexive exercises supporting the readers learning.’
I was very impressed with this book which covered not only psychosocial but mental state assessment also. I think it will be very helpful to nurses commencing in the profession. The Service user voice, exercises and considerations for practice are all useful learning devices also. Many thanks.
Applicable to all fields of nursing, and also allied health professionals, including paramedics.
I think this book is very useful for SENCOs as it gives them a good overview of a health perspective for the theory and practice of psychosocial assessments which they would not otherwise know about.
