Recommended reading as it aligns with some of the learning outcomes of the module. Particularly enjoyed the chapters on acute kidney injury and altered consciousness. Very well written. Scenarios and case studies help develop critical thinking. This book will be a very useful resource for students studying specialist and complex care modules at undergraduate level.

The book follows a really good structure and is easy to read. Each chapter is linked to the NMC platforms. Each clinical condition is linked to a patient scenario and use of an ABCDE assessment to recognise clinical deterioration and manage care.

Clear and concise. Good use of case studies which supports the link between theory and practice.
