The book is an inspiring and comprehensive source of information and ideas for creating a dyslexia-friendly learning environment at all levels, and in my opinion deserves a place in the staff room of all schools.

A really insightful book providing guidance to practitioners on how to support pupils with dyslexia in the classroom. Excellent suggestions that are easy to implement.
most useful - particularly for the new PGCert & MA in Supporting Older Children & Young People with Dyslexia / SpLDs which is being validated to run from September - on the reading list as a core text.
A really supportive text
Although the information was informatively relevant, the time allowance for dealing with non-essential subjects was reduced and we had to simply offer the students the option to elect this topic rather than include it in the core curriculum. The strategies are excellently presented, the information clear and concise, and although we didn't ultimately use the resource or offer the module, we still recommend the book as a valuable tool when a student individually elects to study Support.

A great basic overview of dyslexia for people of all ages. Gives a good insight to students on placement and to myself as a teaching professional. Really great photocopy-able resources. Would recommend!

A great book for teachers supporting those with dyslexia.
The module to which I had hoped would benefit from this book is practical based. We deliver a teacher training programme in dance and this book does not target this area.
I ended up not teaching this course this year, but would add this as a supplemental text for my next term teaching this. The toolkit (although geared at teachers) is also appropriate for social care workers who will move into the education sector. Personally, I found it useful as a lecturer who has a number of dyslexic students to better understand their experience.
Whole-school and whole-class strategies included in every chapter which is a very useful step; well structured chapters full of useful ideas; overall useful for a wide range of educational and other staff working in inclusive primary school education
This book is useful to help me develop my teaching inthis area. It gives a good overview of principles and practices required.
I will be using this personally but will not be recommending as feel for students needs greater depth of theory

An excellent resource for practitioners and for delivering CPD. Very practical, good ideas and each chapter provides the children’s voices too.
