A very necessary addition to the literature surrounding anti discriminatory practice in counselling and psychotherapy. However, even within this book, there is a reference to people "suffering" from their disability. It would be good to see all traces of such language eradicated in a future reprint.

An excellent text that is both academic in content and practical in use thanks to the various exercises detailed within the pages. The depth of knowledge shown by all of the authors brought together with the range of topics covered under the umbrella term 'anti-discriminatory practice' highlights the point that a lot of these areas tend to be left out of difference and diversity training schedules. This book has now been taken on as a core text for the Diversity unit within our Foundation Degree.
An excellent text on a much under-appreciated and under-applied subject. Far too many people assume good practice whereas it deserves the level of attention and change in best practice recommended in this fascinating and thoughtful book.
