A very helpful introduction to social work, the book is structured into 3 distinct sections: theory and methods, skills and interventions in practice. Each chapter contains a range of activities to deepen students understanding of the topic areas. Part of the Transforming Social Work Series, the book is very much a ‘taster’ of key areas. It’s quality lies in the fact that each chapter is written by an academic who is known for their knowledge and experience in the subject area and thus the information is interesting and reliable.
