SAGE Publishing adds Public Health Reports to its health journals portfolio
SAGE Publishingtoday announces that it is to begin publishing Public Health Reports (PHR) in partnership with the US Public Health Service and the U.S. Surgeon General. Published in collaboration with the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH), PHR has been a resource for the public health community since 1878 and is dedicated to public health practice, research, viewpoints, and commentaries.
“One of the journal’s top goals is modernization of our website and publication technology,” commented Frederic E. Shaw, MD, JD, Editor in Chief. “We believe that the new relationship between our publisher, the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health, and SAGE Publishing will be a huge step forward for the journal.”
PHR is published bi-monthly and addresses major issues confronting the public health community, such as Tobacco Control, Teenage Violence, Occupational Disease and Injury, and Health Disparities. It also features recurring guest columns such as Local Acts, Global Health Matters, Law and the Public’s Health, and Surgeon General’s Perspectives, a column in which the Surgeon General communicates important national public health issues. Additionally, supplemental issues of PHR are published approximately two to five times per year, focusing on specific topics of interest to the readership including Drug Policy, Immunization, and Lead Screening.
“The research published in Public Health Reports informs public health practitioners of global emerging issues and contributes to their impactful work,” commented Bob Howard, Vice President of Journals, SAGE Publishing. “We look forward to working with ASPPH and Public Health Reports’ esteemed editorial board to strengthen the journal’s global reach.”
