November 17, 2014

Official Publication of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF)

Los Angeles, CA - SAGE announces today that it will begin publishing OTJR: Occupation, Participation, and Health, a leading occupational therapy journal of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation beginning in January, 2015.

Published quarterly, OTJR reflects the foundation’s mission to advance occupational therapy through sound scientific inquiry. The journal brings together research from a wide community of social and behavioral science scholars including psychology, neuroscience, economics, anthropology, sociology, geography, rehabilitation science, nursing, and social work.

Dr. Charles Christiansen, Executive Director of AOTFcommented:

"For over thirty years, AOTF has published OTJR because it views reporting on occupational therapy research as one of its primary responsibilities. We are thrilled to be partnering with SAGE, with its vast experience and global reputation for excellence in publishing scientific journals, as we strive to increase and improve our reach and effectiveness in pursuing this aim."

The journal publishes original research articles, systematic review papers, briefs, book reviews, letters to the editor, and commentaries. It has served practicing occupational therapists for more than 30 years.

“For nearly 50 years, both SAGE and the American Occupational Therapy Foundation have been guided by a mission to support research that makes a meaningful, positive impact,”said Bob Howard, Vice President, Journals at SAGE. “SAGE is proud to add OTJR to our growing collection of occupational therapy journals and we are confident that in partnership with AOTF, we can expand readership for this important journal, helping people to more successfully participate in family, work, local communities, and society.”
