Ashley N. Payne is a doctoral student of Educational Psychology in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research at the University of Memphis. Her research interests include: racial identity, racism and power dynamics, academic motivation, personal epistemology, and hip-hop education. Currently, Ashley Payne is investigating the role of hip-hop in the lives of African American men utilizing qualitative methodologies.
