Bill Lee, PhD is Professor of Accounting at Sheffield University Management School where he has just completed his term as Head of the Accounting and Financial Management Division. He has a long-term interest in research methods and has been active in establishing communities of scholars interested in research methods. He was the inaugural secretary of the Research Methodology Special Interest Group of the British Academy of Management and the inaugural chair of the Research Methods and Research Practice Strategic Interest group of the European Academy of Management. In those capacities, he has organized numerous seminars, workshops, conference tracks and conferences. This part of his work has been supported by grants from a number of bodies including the Economic and Social Research Council, the Higher Education Academy and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In addition to co-authoring Conducting Case Studies for Business and Management Students with Mark, he has co-edited two important collections on research: The Real Life Guide to Accounting Research with Christopher Humphrey and Challenges and Controversies in Management Research with Catherine Cassell.
