Richard L. Sowell, Editor of JANAC is Professor and Dean, College of Health and Human Services at Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia. Active in the provision of direct care and coordination of services to persons with HIV disease for many years, Dr. Sowell has published extensively in referred journals and in books on community-based HIV/AIDS care management and women with HIV infection. He serves as a peer reviewer for a number of referred journals and is on the Editorial Board of Lippincott’s Case Management journal. Dr. Sowell has conducted federally funded research related to women with HIV infection, and served as the Director of an Educational Outreach Program to nursing working in rural settings. An involved member of numerous nursing and public health associations, Dr. Sowell is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. He is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences.
