Samar Musmar, MD, FAAFP An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine

Dr. Samar Ghazal/ Musmar was born in 1957 in Nablus/Palestine. She got a MBBCH in Medicine and Surgery in 1982 from Egypt and American Board of Family Medicine in 1995 from University of Florida. She became the American Academy of Family Medicine Fellow in 2004. Dr. Musmar was appointed faculty member staff at the University of Florida / School of Medicine in 1995 for a year. Since 1998 she has been working at An-Najah National University as a faculty member where she has held several positions and helped establish several academic programs in health sciences (examples are: nursing , optometry, medicine, higher specialization in family medicine). In addition Dr. Musmar serves on important national academic and professional organizations such as The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) and the Palestinian Medical Council. Dr. Musmar is also on the editorial Board of the Journal of Human Lactation (JHL) and the AN-Najah University Medical and Health Science Journal (ANUMHSJ).

Currently Dr. Musmar is working as head of the medical and health sciences graduate programs department and is the program director of family medicine at An-Najah University.

Dr. Musmar has published in peer-reviewed journals about important health issues in Palestine with special interest in women and child health, and has been involved in improving medical education programs in Palestine at different levels.
