Shannon E. Nicks, PhD, MPH, is an assistant professor of community and public health in the Department of Social and Public Health at Ohio University. In her research, she uses the principles of community-based participatory research (CBPR) to promote health equity. She is particularly interested in examining health behaviors and outcomes related to rural lifestyle as well as socioeconomic and racial/ethnic disparities in women’s health and maternal and child health.
