Canadian Journal of Nursing Research (CJNR), Canada’s leading journal in nursing research and scholarship published original research and scholarly manuscripts that are of special interest to nursing clinicians, educators, leaders, policy makers, and researchers, as well as other health care providers. CJNR is intended to serve Canada and the international nursing community as a forum for the dissemination and communication of nursing knowledge and research. We therefore welcome submissions of research and other scholarly work from Canadian as well as international authors.

A quarterly peer-review nursing publication, CJNR accepts quality quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method manuscripts of original research reports on a broad spectrum of topics that include, but are not limited to, nursing science and practice, education, leadership, policy, models of care, health services, and health systems. CJNR also welcomes systematic and scoping reviews that are guided by a recognized review framework (e.g., PRISMA, JBI, Cochrane), innovative research methods papers, editorials, and commentaries that are of significant relevance to nursing.

CJNR serves both Canada and the international nursing community as a forum for the dissemination and communication of nursing knowledge and research. We therefore welcome submissions of research and other scholarly work from Canadian as well as international authors.

    Canadian Journal of Nursing Research (CJNR), Canada’s leading journal in nursing research and scholarship, invites manuscripts of interest from nurse clinicians, educators, leaders, policy makers, and researchers, as well as other health care providers. CJNR is intended to serve both Canada and the international nursing community as a forum for the dissemination and communication of nursing knowledge and research. We therefore welcome submissions of research and other scholarly work from Canadian as well as international authors.

    A quarterly refereed peer-review publication, CJNR accepts quality quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method manuscripts on a broad spectrum of topics that include, but are not limited to clinical, psychosocial, biological, educational, models of care, health services, and health systems research studies. CJNR also welcomes short research reports, systematic reviews, clinical and/or conceptual papers, current issues, editorials, and commentaries that are of special interest to nursing.

    Manuscripts will be acknowledged upon online submission. Each initial submission will be subject to initial vetting by the assigned handling editor to determine suitability of the work prior to subjecting it to anonymize peer-review by at least two reviewers. Authors who wish to explore the suitability of their work to the journal are encouraged to precede the submission with an email to the Editor-in-Chief at gayle.roux@und.edu with a description of the manuscript (please include an abstract).

    The following author guidelines are designed assist authors with the manuscript preparation and submission process. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines will be returned to authors without further review; until revised by authors and deemed ready for peer-review.
