It is a detailled textbook, but more suitable for advanced researchers than for undergraduate students. The inclusion of a glossary seems to be a very helpful feature of the third edition. In addition the way Krippendorf describes content analysis helps widening the idea of this method in Germany for both researchers and students.

This is a great introductory book for people conducting content analysis. However, some chapters are not easy to follow for undersgrad students (e.g., chapters on relaibility and validit).
part II components of content analysis is a must read. Specifically, chapter on computer aids gives an extensive detail and intersting read on network analysis and data mining tools
