Building on Sage's tradition of publishing high-quality scholarly works for more than 35 years, we are concentrating our efforts on providing upper-level undergraduate and graduate textbooks, handbooks, and professional books. Our Books Division also includes the Sage Reference program, which publishes encyclopedias and other reference works. Sage currently publishes more than 800 titles per year worldwide across its imprints, and has over 12,000 titles in print.


Books Permissions

In general, reusing or reproducing substantial portions of Sage Publishing content requires permission. This includes use of text, figures, tables, multimedia content, and any other material published by Sage. In some instances, Sage may make its content freely viewable; however, such material may require permission for reuse.

Before placing a request, please review Pre-Approved Permission Requests to determine whether permission for your reuse is necessary.

The policy outlined below has been developed to enable authors of SAGE books and Institutional Repository Managers to easily identify what book content can be archived under what terms. For the archiving of content outlined below in open access archives, no additional, specific permission to archive is required.
