How to Attract and Publish High Quality Content

Below are some ideas on encouraging submissions to your journal which you may like to discuss with your Sage editor.

On Acceptance and Publication

The SAGE production process

  • Communication: We are conscious of, and understand, how keen authors are to see their work published. SAGE Production Editors maintain regular communication with journal editors and authors throughout the production process.
  • Proofs: We will email a PDF of the proofs to the corresponding author. Please return corrected proofs as soon as possible, or by the deadline requested, so as not to delay the publication process.

Making the Most of Your Editorial Board

Editorial boards are an essential and valuable resource for journals, but members typically have other responsibilities and often sit on the editorial boards of competing journals. How do you make sure you are using your board effectively?

Online Submission and Peer Review System

Referees are sent invitations to review papers by journal editors. Most will either make requests by email or using an online submission and review system. We understand that our reviewers are busy so it won’t always be possible for invitations to be accepted. In order to avoid delays we would be grateful to reviewers to let us know as soon as possible if they need to refuse a review or if a problem arises after the invitation has been accepted.

Commentaries, critiques and responses

Some Sage journals publish short commentaries, letters to the editor or critiques (from now on referred to as critiques) on published articles to voice differences of opinion, perspectives on a particular topic. These are generally limited to one commentary or critique research published in a Sage journal or an article published elsewhere. Such contributions may have a restricted word count. Please view the relevant journal’s submission guidelines for more information.

Case Study Submission Guidelines

Metamorphosis- A Journal of Management Research, is a bi-annual, peer-reviewed International Journal of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow published by Sage. It encourages authors to submit case studies in all areas of business management. The cases should highlight important issues, challenges or dilemmas faced by business managers in particular contexts. They should present the contextual background succinctly and share the available data/ information to the maximum extent possible.
