Crossing Borders
International Studies for the 21st Century

Third Edition
Experience with SAGE edge

January 2018 | 360 pages | CQ Press

In Crossing Borders, authors Harry Chernotsky and Heidi Hobbs provide an introduction to international studies that utilizes different disciplinary approaches in understanding the global arena.  Geographic, political, economic, social, and cultural borders provide the framework for critical analysis as explicit connections to the different disciplines are made through both historical and theoretical analysis.  Integrating research and current real-world examples, the chapters encourage students to identify their role in the international arena and what it means to be a global citizen.  Throughout the text, readers are given opportunities to explore specific international problems. A final chapter provides advice on how students can further their own global engagement through study abroad, internships, and career choices.

This Third Edition is thoroughly updated to reflect recent events and trends, including cyberterrorism, the rise of ISIS, and other key issues. It offers new color maps and features, an expanded list of resources, and clear learning objectives for every chapter, giving students a solid understanding of the complexity of the issues facing the world today.
