Education Collection


Comprised of over 120 hours of video, this collection offers a practical view into a full range of teaching settings and situations, from early years to educational leadership, to support students needing to understand theory or how to apply it in practice.

Contributors include leading authors Peter Smith on Bullying, Wendy W. Murawski on Co-Teaching, Julia Link Roberts on Gifted and Talented Education, and many more.


NEW in 2018:

In 2018, we will be adding more content to the SAGE Video Education Collection.

The updates will provide more than 11 hours of video and 80 titles of new videos that will focus on the areas that students, researchers, and faculty love, including:

  • More content in areas of high demand showcasing the latest research or practitioner best-practices in education, many of which include footage inside real classrooms. Highlights include:
    • A series of new Case Study films on various Educational Leadership topics led by Professor Peter Earley and colleagues from leading institution UCL, London
    • A number of additional new Case Study films by leading academics covering additional themes such as Special Education, Gifted and Talented Education, and Educational Research, including Special Education expert Professor Wendy Murawski (California State University, Northridge)
  • Nearly 4.5 hours of classroom footage across the K-12 age-span, and looking at different Education contexts and domains. Nearly 3 hours of a new Content Type added: SAGE Conversations/Debates involving an academic and a practitioner from the world of Education discussing topics pertinent to teacher training. Led by leading academics including Professor Peter Earley (UCL, London) Dr. Patricia Burch (University of Southern California)
  • New world-renowned academic contributors and SAGE authors, including Professor David Whitebread (University of Cambridge) who has created new content in the field of Child Development in Education
  • New content focused on Middle/Junior High School age, a gap in the original collection
  • Greater amount of global content – approximately 1 hour of new films by leading academics/practitioners from leading institutes and universities in South-East Asia and Australasia

Additionally, the following changes have been made to the collection to enhance the user experience:

  • Additional graphics and visual effects added to some of the existing, most-used videos for maximum impact
  • Existing title information has been vetted and edited by leading academics to ensure that titles, keywords, content types and other relevant metadata are more closely linked to course/training fields than ever before, therefore increasing discoverability
  • Supplementary material added to some original video titles, i.e. full-text SAGE Journal articles where the video is based on a SAGE journal publication
