Gould's book is perfect for student teachers who are undertaking PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or any other teaching qualification, as it covers numerous theories of learning is great detail.

In particular, Gould covers behaviourism, cognitivism, and humanism is excellent and critical detail, which enables the reader to evaluate the pros and cons to determine which methods (or combination of methods) are most suited to individual learners and situations.

Good book which explains the theory with solid examples and exercises that can strengthen understanding. Can assist in classroom practice as the book also shows strategies and how these can help.

This book goes less in depth in the theories, but for the advantage of presenting a wider range of accounts. The practical applications provided make for some bonus as well.
