Excellent text book. Practical guide for students although I feel this is more suitable/appropriate for Post registration. Use of incorporated case studies are helpful. Comprehensive covering a variety of mental health disorders and the application of CBT.
The book covers a wide range of mental health conditions and the application of CBT for these. The chapters on assessment and formulation are thorough and remain a valuable resource for trainee's in CBT to use. However, I think the book could generally benefit from a revised edition owing to developments in CBT practice in recent years.
This book has been recommended as a core read within one of the 3rd year Psychological Therapies module. This assists in students identifying the links between CBT and Cognitive behavioural appoaches as used within OT practice
This was an easy read. Fantastic use of case studies and particular interest in the section on CBT within Child and Adolescents. I liked the use of metaphors. I will add this to a recommended reading list.

This is an excellent text for students with a pre-existing konwledge of cbt. It is very clearly presented and is enhanced greatly by the use of case studies. I have attended workshops by Alec Grant and find him very interesting, inspiring and expert in this area.
