Although the empirical project included in the course is individual, this books provides helpful additional information for planning, conducting and interpreting a study. Hence it is recommended for all students who aim at deeper understanding of the research process.
The book gives very useful and relevant information for the topics of the course, thus being a necessary supplement for the other course sources.
A research project was not included in this course, so the use of the book was postponed for the second part of the cognitive psychology course.
A research project was not included in the tasks of the course, so the use of this book would be premature.
A well written and informative book. However too much psychologically focused for our programme.
A helpful guide for those participating in collaborative research, although more so for post-graduate students and beyond rather than undergraduates. Some chapters may be more helpful in such a case (i.e. there are some great tips in the 'conducting a study' chapter that are good for those new to research) but some of the other sections (i.e. presentations and writing up) are less suited to our students who are not to report the work collaboratively.
The text book provides provide a step by step introduction and guidance to collaborative team based research activities. It is particularly recommended for teams of students doing project work.
Essential book. Will recommend to university authorities
too much focused on psychology
