Excellent and up to date book with sole focus on supervision. A good supportive text for students who are starting out and trying to understand the concept of supervision to supporting them through their journey during training. Excellent use of embedding activities throughout to engage readers.

I find Hazel Reid writes in a way that is accessible for students who are grappling with issues of practice and supervision.
I have found this book to be extremely informative, it is well set out and very well paced. It contains information on supervision from start to endings and gives case studies that can be analysed both in class and as individual assessments set for students to carry out alone. It covers the ethical requirements of a counsellor and the need for self monitoring and reflexive practice and gives explanations on why this is paramount for every counsellor, regardless of their theoretcal model.I will be adding this to the recommended reading list.
