Just the book I was looking for! An excellent intro to all those new tools available for budding journalists. Well written and free of jargon.
A fascinating and fast changing topic that is well covered in so many ways by this text. It is as bright and lively in its presentation as the topic itself. It covers the two areas of citizen journalism and traditional journalism in an in-depth way that shows how the edges between these worlds are blurring, and it does it so well that it makes it relevant/essential for people working in either aspect of journalism, or those studying either aspect.
This is an extremely informed and detailed book that will be useful to students of journalism. The authors have taken a broad approach towards evaluating the signficance of social media that encompasses practical and academic considerations. This makes the book useful; across a rnage of modules but also ensures that the most recent developments have been covered. The authors do so in a fluent and engaging way to the extent that students can see the application and signficance of a range of social media towards the contemporary practice of journalism.
