We are delighted to announce that SAGE has purchased the prestigious publisher, Pion Limited. The acquisition results in Pion's entire publishing portfolio becoming a part of SAGE's publishing program.
The list comprises the four journals in the acclaimed ‘Environment and Planning’ series of journals, as well as Perception, and i-Perception, as follows:
Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space publishes innovative research at the interface of human geography, environmental studies, and urban and regional research.
Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science was introduced to cover the area of method application and spatial problems in built environments, with specialisation in new approaches to generating and evaluating plans and policies.
Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space is a research-driven multidisciplinary journal which seeks to advance debates on a wide range of pressing contemporary policy issues arising from attempts made to govern the economy, society, and the environment.
Environment and Planning D: Society and Space provides a forum for the discussion of the mutually constitutive relation between the social and the spatial. The journal editors are equally committed to the spatial aspects of political action and the abstractions of social theory.
Perception is a scholarly journal reporting experimental results and theoretical ideas ranging over the fields of human, animal, and machine perception.
i-Perception is a new open-access sister journal to Perception. i-Perception covers the same academic areas but while Perception will continue as a free-to-publish, pay-to-read journal of the traditional sort, i-Perception is a pay-to-publish, free-to-read journal, thereby disseminating refereed accounts of research as widely as possible. Although the two journals will be treated separately bibliographically and as regards indexing and other listings, they share a common editorial board, refereeing standards and have similar submission procedures.
Amongst the small books list is also the classic title ‘Place and Placefulness’ by Edward Relph
Now also available: Environment and Planning E: Nature and Space is an interdisciplinary journal of nature-society scholarship launched in 2018.
