Police Ethics and Values

Policing Matters Series
The chapters on ethnicity, discrimination, public order and use of force were all very useful for generating discussion and promoting wider reading.
An excellent discussion of the role of ethics in policing covering a broad range of topics that will be really useful to my students.
MacVean is well known in Criminology and this is a good basic text on the nature of police ethics
Although it is a valuable book and I will be suggesting it as part of further reading for the training I deliver, I cannot realistically recommend it to my organisation as a 'must have' text.
I like the layout and the content very much. In keeping with this series, the examples used, activities and reflection points all aid the reader. The topics covered are of utmost importance to any police officer, or anyone planning on joining any part of the police service.
