Info for SAGE Authors and Users of Institutional Repositories

All Contributions deposited in the author's institutional repository are protected by copyright.

Gold Open Access articles

If a Contribution has been published under a Creative Commons license, there is no embargo period on making the Contribution publicly available on the author’s institutional repository. For more information, visit our page on Reusing Open Access and SAGE Choice Content.

Subscription Articles - Green Open Access

Authors may reuse their Contribution as outlined on the Information for SAGE Authors page. It is important that authors check their signed Contributor Agreements to review the journal's policy regarding author reuse.

Under SAGE's Green Open Access policy, once the Contribution has been accepted for publication, the Accepted Version of the Contribution may be posted on the author's institutional repository without any restrictions.

If a Contribution has been deposited in the author's institutional repository, users of the repository are reminded that the Contribution is protected by copyright. For permission to reuse the Contribution, follow our Process for Requesting Permission.

Please note that some journals may have an embargo period before the Accepted Version of the Contribution may be deposited in the author's institutional repository:
