Big Data and Social Research Roundup No. 22

May 30, 2018

This month's Big Data Newsletter shares the news that the 2018 Summer Institute in Computational Social Science has launched. The event will include lectures, group problem sets, and participant-led research projects and is aimed at both social scientists and data scientists and will be held at Duke University in mid-June.

It also includes a round-up of other big data news, including that Cambridge Analytica began insolvency proceedings, the Alan Turing Institute announced a new research project focusing on data science and AI, and Nesta's new Centre for Collective Intelligence Design.

SAGE is currently working with Nesta to organise a one day event in September 2018 to explore opportunities in collective intelligence and how we can make the most of them – keep an eye on the SAGE Ocean website for more updates soon.
