This book is very helpful to understand visual research. Since my students often use pictures or film as a source of inspiration for their designs or research, I was hoping to use it as background reading for a graduate course students, mostly to develop a diploma thesis. They can learn a lot from this book.

The use of visual images is an important contribution to qualitative research methods and will inspire me in my own research work. My master students should know of this book.

This text will be utilised during a level 5 research methods module for tourism and events students. Banks' style is great for challenging students understandings of how we can use the visual in our research and will hopefully assist them in creating more exciting dissertation topics.
