Up-to-date, well-organized, and well-written book on the subject. Though many of the examples are from Australia and the UK, the issues addressed are similar to those found in the United States and help students gain a more global perspective of domestic violence.

This book does not align with the needs of the course content.
We have recommended this for the level 5 & 6 students to enable them to apply their knowledge to their practice settings. This book offers a refreshing and current viewpoint which also supports students developing their critical eye.

Excellent for BA and MA students in Social Work - providing them with inspiration and extending their knowledge of SW.
This is an excellent text on social work and domestic violence that offers a comprehensive introduction to all key areas of policy and practice with directions to further reading helpfully provided at the end of each section. I found the case examples and associated reflective questions helped to embed the theoretical content in a meaningful and accessible way. I have requested that our library order a number of copies of this text which I feel will be invaluable to our social work students.
